LOOKING UP AT CLOUD BOTTOMS

Here held fast by the pull of gravity
I stare upward at cloud bellies

Let us speculate
that at any chosen moment
there are 100,000 people gazing
down from speeding jet planes
seeing the bright crests
tops of these same moisture laden beauties

Here below their view
undersides with darker surfaces
all convoluted and mixed by winds
a view that those airplane bound people
cannot share...
they see sun permeating cloud tops
bright white beautiful...
perspective is everything

Here on this chest of Earth
I smile at what the flyers cannot see
knowing that those people
in those speeding tubes
cannot share my private joy
as now I content myself
with the pleasures of undersides
these mere bellies...

but bellies gorgeous...
